This innovative model utilizes the second hand like never before. Depending on the mode, the second hand acts as a compass needle indicating magnetic north, an altitude differential pointer or a barometric differential pointer.

Featuring Multi-Band 6 Atomic Timekeeping with triple sensor, the PAW5000-1 model has a unique second hand which assists in compass readings. These timepieces receive this signal several times during each 24-hour period, resulting in outstanding accuracy. They will even adjust automatically for Daylight Saving Time and Leap Year.

Tough Solar Power
Tough Solar technology features a unique power saving function and allows the Pathfinder timepiece to energize itself through even the lowest level of illumination; natural, solar or artificial light. The unique solar cell allows for the capturing of various levels of light. The power saving function is a separate technology which turns the display off after a certain period in the dark and is smart enough to judge illumination levels so as to not set off the auto EL backlight when surrounding light levels are sufficient.

Thermometer
A built-in thermometer displays and checks the temperature every five minutes. Temperature ranges are from -10° to 60° C (14 to 140°F). When activated prior to submersion, the thermometer may also be used underwater to test the temperature of a river or stream.

Altimeter
The altimeter uses a pressure sensor to detect current air pressure, which is then used to estimate the current altitude based on the International Standard Atmosphere preset values. You can use the current session records to keep track of high altitude, low altitude, total ascent and total descent values.

Barometer
Barometric pressure indicates changes in the atmosphere pressure. By monitoring these changes you can predict the weather with reasonable accuracy. Pathfinder watches take barometric pressure readings every two hours. Measurement results are used to produce a barometric pressure graph and differential pointer readings.
